Also with the support of Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group, the Comprehensive School in Castellarano is the first to sign up to the educational project designed to promote health and a scientific culture among the students.
Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group supports Fondazione Umberto Veronesi ETS in the project “Scuole Amiche della Ricerca”, the educational initiative promoting health and the scientific culture among Italian students. The Istituto Comprensivo Castellarano school is the first to embrace this new project, which aims to create an informed and active school community, turning the participating schools into local health education hubs.
“Scuole Amiche della Ricerca” offers the students workshops and specific webinars, with a focus on Pollution and health and an active citizenship workshop. This project supports schools in becoming active agents of change, encouraging students and communities to work to develop an informed, sustainable future. All the schools involved will be supported by a community manager to facilitate the activities and communication with students, families and teachers.
Also with the support of Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group, in 2025 up to 750 students, teachers and their families will be engaged in activities aiming to investigate the relationship between air pollution and health. The middle school students will take part in a 90-minute class meeting held by one of Fondazione Veronesi’s trainers, a webinar and an active citizenship project. The class workshop will become an opportunity to interact with “Smogville, fino all’ultimo respiro” (“Smogville, to the last breath”), the activity organised by Fondazione Veronesi to tackle this topic.
For Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group, supporting this project is a way of concretely helping to spread a culture of prevention, considering scientific research as an essential tool for improving people’s quality of life.
As Stefano Luconi, Executive Board Member of Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group, states: “Supporting this major training and awareness raising project starting from a young age is another important, concrete action, consistent with the purposes of our Foundation and in line with the ESG goals we aim to pursue.”
