THE CHILDREN FROM THE SASSUOLO HOSPITAL AND IRIS CERAMICA GROUP SUMMER CAMPS EXPLORE THE WORLD OF BEES WITH APICOLTURA URBANA

In partnership with Apicoltura Urbana, Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group has organised a number of educational workshops on beekeeping for the children of the Sassuolo Hospital and Iris Ceramica Group summer camps. The young participants had the chance to investigate the world of bees, discovering their importance for the ecosystem and biodiversity.

During the workshops, the children were able to find out more about bees, learning to recognise them and distinguish them from wasps. They also had the chance to see the hive close up and in safety, experimenting with beeswax to create personalised candles as a souvenir of their experience. Through the thrilling stories of the beekeepers, the children were also able to appreciate the efforts made by bees in their natural habitat and the importance of the work and tools used by the beekeepers to take care of the bees.

A major initiative run by our Foundation aiming to raise awareness among the younger generations on environmental issues and encourage children to become active citizens in protecting our planet.
