Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group concretely supports the Banco Alimentare Emilia Romagna.
Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group supports the Banco Alimentare Emilia Romagna, with a donation that will guarantee the distribution of 375,000 meals, concretely helping those in greatest need and raising awareness among its stakeholders on the value of fighting food waste.
Since 1989 Banco Alimentare – which Banco Alimentare Emilia Romagna belongs to – has not only been guaranteeing aid through direct support to bodies and institutions, but has also developed a far-reaching nationwide system to recover agri-food chain surpluses and redistribute them to around 7,500 charity organisations which in turn provide support to over 1.5 million people. Foods that are still absolutely edible and well-preserved but which can no longer be sold because perhaps they are close to their sell-by date, are identified, collected from stores and then distributed throughout the country, aiming mainly to help people and families in serious economic hardship, but also, as explained, to avoid the unjust waste of food and resources.
Another testimonial of the commitment of our Foundation to guarantee a better and inclusive future based on the principles of responsibility and sustainability.
