In 2026, Semi di Futuro continues to expand, involving the schools of Toano, Cavola and Villa Minozzo.
The educational project “Semi di Futuro – crescere insieme per il Pianeta”, promoted by Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group in collaboration with the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park and with the support of the cooperative La Lumaca, is broadening its reach by involving new schools in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
During 2026, the initiative will extend to the schools of Toano, Cavola and Villa Minozzo, all located in the heart of the Reggio Emilia Apennines. These schools will join those already participating in the project in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia, furthering the educational commitment in areas where the connection with nature is even more central to learning.
Created with the aim of fostering in young people a concrete awareness of environmental issues, biodiversity and the fight against climate change, the project includes the provision of the nursery table “Grow” to each school. Students are invited to actively take part in growing and caring for native plant species which, after a period of guided growth, will later be planted within the territory of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park.
Participating schools also receive a kit containing seeds of local tree species, cultivation tools, educational materials and support for workshops and educational field trips. Students, together with their families and teachers, thus become key players in a two-year journey that combines education, hands-on experience and responsibility toward the local territory.
The expansion of the project in the Apennines in 2026 highlights the strengthening of an educational model aimed at raising awareness among younger generations and creating a network of active and responsible citizens committed to environmental protection, fostering a direct connection between schools, businesses, communities and nature.
