FONDAZIONE IRIS CERAMICA GROUP WITH PANGEA FOR THE “PICCOLI OSPITI” PROJECT

Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group supports “Piccoli Ospiti”, the project run by Fondazione Pangea Onlus to tackle the domestic violence emergency, particularly focusing on minors who have witnessed abuse against their mothers.

Pangea, which has been working also in Italy for several years supporting women victims of violence, has launched a specific programme providing hospitality and helping mothers and children who have witnessed abuse against them to recover the parental bond. The “Piccoli Ospiti” project aims to support victims by offering safe spaces for minors and their mothers, trauma support for children and actions to foster positive parental relations for their mothers, through a range of activities and workshops.
With the support of psychologists and social workers, the children and their mothers are helped to re-establish positive interaction and relations based on mutual trust and serenity, and renew mother-child relations lost due to violence.

In particular, thanks to the support of our Foundation, in 2023 Pangea was able to engage 7 minors and 5 mothers in the “Piccoli Ospiti” activities. The workshops involved children between 6 and 13 with a range of educational and experience-based activities, offering study support and helping the children to recognise, express and process their emotions and traumas. The mothers were offered parental support activities to strengthen the ability to express emotions and recover their attention and care for their children.

The support to this project represents the commitment of Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group to social issues, focusing energies and resources to ensure a better, abuse-free future for women and children, concretely contributing to a positive change in society.
