FONDAZIONE IRIS CERAMICA GROUP FOR THE ANFFAS PROJECT “QUARTO FUOCO”

Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group promotes the project “Quarto Fuoco” with the Sassuolo branch of ANFFAS, the Italian National Association of Families of People with Intellectual and/or Relational Disabilities.

“Quarto Fuoco” is an inclusive life project, designed with ANFFAS to promote interaction, enhancing the autonomy of persons with disabilities through the art of ceramic decoration.

Historically, the term “terzo fuoco” (“third firing”) refers to the process used in artistic ceramics to create particularly rich decorations.

With ANFFAS, we chose this name as there is still no such thing as “fourth firing”, and there is no other experience of this kind in the Italian ceramic district of the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia: a group of persons with disabilities creating precious decorations.

Our Foundation decided to support ANFFAS in running a ceramic decoration workshop, supplying all the materials needed and supporting the work with expert volunteers from the staff of the Iris Ceramica Group companies, teaching the art of ceramic decoration and helping to keep this local tradition alive.

Once again, our Foundation has shown its commitment to the social field, offering its support to a project that fosters interpersonal relations, strengthening the autonomy of the people involved and helping to build a community, aiming to implement an inclusive life project that enhances each user’s autonomy according to their own potential.
