FONDAZIONE FOR THE ANCIENT PIEVE OF CASTELLARANO

Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group has supported the restoration of the Pieve of Castellarano, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, contributing to the preservation of an important historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage of the region.
Indeed, the church is one of the most significant places of worship in the Diocese of Reggio Emilia–Guastalla, both for its location in the picturesque medieval village and its remarkable history spanning over a thousand years.

The first phase of the restoration involved the renovation of the heating, lighting, and audio systems, as well as the installation of a new flooring. Subsequently, works were carried out to restore the church’s interior decorations and adapt the liturgical spaces.
To support the project—which also included the restoration of the church façade, the rectory, and the bell tower—the “Comitato Antica Pieve di Castellarano” was established. This committee brought together the Parish, the Municipal Administration, various local entities, and the wider community. A synergy that reflects a shared commitment to return the building to its former glory.

This initiative is part of the broader mission of Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group to support projects that enhance the local area, strengthen community ties, and promote cultural heritage. The restoration was undertaken to safeguard places of identity and to pass on the historical and artistic memory of our roots to future generations.
