A project tackling the issues of health, well-being and inclusion for single elderly people in our local area.
Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group supports the “Dalle Radici” project run by Caritas Diocesana Modenese which, with the local Social Services (Polo 3) and PUASS (the social services help desk), aims to engage the local community in building relations to fight social isolation among the elderly.
The initiative follows an analysis that shows how social isolation of elderly people is aggravated by health factors, including the natural deterioration of physical and sometimes cognitive conditions, and socio-cultural factors, which determine inclusion in society on the basis of performance criteria. The pandemic emergency also worsened the situation for many elderly people, for whom often isolation has become a habit.
The aim of the project is therefore to foster the social inclusion of elderly people through the census of local resources and the implementation of preventive measures. At the same time, it aims to create contexts for socialisation and opportunities for meeting and dialogue with elderly people and, where experiences of this kind were interrupted by the socio-health emergency of recent years, to seek to resume them.
The Foundation therefore demonstrates our commitment to the social sector by supporting a project that aims to protect the rights of the elderly as an objective to be pursued in line with the constitutional principles of solidarity and equality, underlining the duty of the community towards them.
