NATIVITY OF LIGHT

This Christmas season, the Iris Ceramica Group Foundation will be supporting, once again, the Modenamoremio association in its cultural promotion and entertainment initiatives for the city of Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region.

To this end, the artwork “Natività nella Luce” (Nativity of Light) by the Modenese artist Carlo Baldessari will be on display for the general public in the Votive Church in Via Emilia Centro, in the city center.

A nativity scene made of more than 9,000 pieces of handcrafted recycled glass, which is meant to engage the citizens of Modena in a dialogue through art, strengthening their sense of belonging and of community.

This is what Federica Minozzi, CEO of Iris Ceramica Group, has to say about the project:

In this critical and unprecedented time in history, this nativity scene brings with it some interesting and truly evocative symbols. Nativity, light and lightness are the key elements that inspired this artwork, which carries a message of rebirth and hope for the citizens of Modena and the world in general. The fact that recycled glass was used for the sculptures is also a responsible and forward-looking choice that is fully in line with the concept of sustainability that is at the heart of our projects and of our corporate philosophy”.

“Natività nella luce”, which was born out of a collaboration between Modenamoremio, the Iris Ceramica Group Foundation and Bper Banca, demonstrates the city’s deep connection with art and becomes a means of amplifying and sharing these people’s feelings and of being close to them.
