A NEW GARDEN FOR THE “LUIGI COCCAPANI” NURSERY SCHOOL

With the support of the Iris Ceramica Group Foundation, in partnership with the Municipality of Fiorano Modenese, the garden at the “Luigi Coccapani” nursery school has been redeveloped into a "planetary garden" based on the ideas of architect Bruna Sigillo, winner of “Next Landmark 2020”, the international contest for architects and designers promoted by Floornature. The architect also won a study grant to attend the Master in Sustainable Design run by SOS - School of Sustainability in Bologna.

The project saw the addition of some special features for the children: aromatic shrubs were planted and flowers now decorate the entrance, offering a colourful welcome for the children and their parents. A new outdoor classroom was created, set against the garden wall with the trees offering a sheltered ceiling. Moreover, some teaching equipment was added to enhance the five fields of experience and more easily manage children with disabilities.

The garden was inaugurated at the 2021 end-of-year party, symbolically handed over to the children by the Iris Ceramica Group Foundation in the presence of representatives from the local institutions and all those who took part in the project.
