“L’Ora Del Noi” is a Social Promotion Association founded to boost the self-esteem and promote the social and work integration of people with disabilities.

With this in mind, the Association, under the sponsorship of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Government and of the Municipality of Sassuolo, presented an educational/workshop course aimed at designing a line of clothing and accessories called “Non perdere il filo” (Don’t lose the thread).

The Iris Ceramica Group Foundation collaborates with other local foundations to make this project possible despite the current health emergency and the resulting social distancing measures put in place, which have made it extremely difficult to integrate and meet the social needs of the weakest sections of the population.

After being suspended in early 2020, the course – which is free of charge and intended for participants with different abilities (adolescents and young adults with psychological, physical and sensory difficulties) – has recently been rescheduled and is being held in the new tailoring school promoted by the Association in Sassuolo, in the province of Modena. This educational program promotes interpersonal relationships, strengthening the independence of those involved and helping to build a friendly community. “L’Ora Del Noi” implements support initiatives aimed at designing a truly inclusive Life Project that enhances the independence of participants as much as possible, valuing the physical, mental and social potential and, especially, the aptitudes of people with different abilities.

Throughout the course, the participants are supported by personnel specialised in teaching handmade tailoring.
