Officine Buone is a volunteer organization dedicated to social innovation. It develops cultural projects in hospitals and other settings of vulnerability, where the talent of young people is put at the service of the community, generating social value and helping to build the communities of the future. Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group ETS collaborates with Officine Buone through the “Special Cook” project, which challenges young professional chefs to create recipes and dishes specifically designed for hospital patients and people with disabilities, while complying with the rules and dietary restrictions required in healthcare environments—making the initiative even more meaningful and engaging.
This innovative volunteering project highlights the important role of food and cooking, while also providing opportunities for education and training on healthy nutrition during both hospital stays and post-hospital recovery.
Launched in 2017, the project is currently active in seven Italian cities—Milan, Monza, Bergamo, Turin, Rome, Paola, and Catanzaro—and has reached more than 15 hospitals and healthcare institutions across Italy.
