THE SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF THE QUARTO FUOCO PROJECT
THE SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF THE QUARTO FUOCO® PROJECT
The Social Impact Assessment of Quarto Fuoco® is now available online. Quarto Fuoco® is a project by Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group ETS that uses ceramic craftsmanship and decoration to promote inclusion, personal growth and the development of skills among people with disabilities or experiencing situations of vulnerability.
Launched in 2022, Quarto Fuoco® has progressively developed collaborations with various local organisations, involving an ever-growing number of people and communities in initiatives focused on social inclusion. The project has also received several significant recognitions: in November 2022, it won the “Social Impact Storytelling” category at the Corporate Heritage Awards; in 2025, it received an award in the “Health and Well-being” category at the CEOforLIFE Awards and was included in the ADI Design Index 2025.
The Social Impact Assessment provides an in-depth analysis of the results achieved and the changes generated by the project. Conducted using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, the assessment involved eight partner organisations and examined three main areas of intervention: the employment inclusion of adults with disabilities, support for women who are victims of violence, and the fight against educational poverty.
During the period analysed, from May 2025 to June 2026, the project involved approximately 330 people: over 230 children and young people, around 40 adults with disabilities and 55 women who are victims of violence. These figures demonstrate the project’s ability to adapt to very different contexts while maintaining a shared framework based on the art of ceramics, the quality of materials and the recognition of each individual’s value.
The findings highlight Quarto Fuoco®’s contribution across its different areas of intervention. For people with disabilities, the assessment identifies the acquisition of ceramic-making skills and greater recognition of their roles and abilities. For the women involved, it highlights a process of rebuilding self-confidence and reducing social isolation. For children and young people, it emphasises the development of creativity, participation and transferable skills.
The publication of this document therefore marks an important milestone in the development of Quarto Fuoco®: a tool to better understand the value generated by the project, identify new opportunities for growth and continue working alongside partner organisations to create concrete opportunities for inclusion and participation.
