THE EVENT DEDICATED TO THE TEACHERS OF THE “SEMI DI FUTURO” PROJECT

On June 10, a dedicated meeting was held for the teachers of the schools involved in the Semi di Futuro project. The event was designed to foster the exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives related to environmental education and the regeneration of forest ecosystems.

The event opened with a welcome session organized by La Lumaca, followed by remarks from Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group ETS delivered by Stefano Luconi, who highlighted the Foundation’s role in supporting educational and environmental initiatives connected to the local area. The speakers also included Giuseppe Vignali, Director of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park and UNESCO MAB representative, and Willy Reggioni, Coordinator of the Park’s Nature Conservation Service, who presented the project and discussed the concept of distributed nurseries as a tool for environmental protection and ecosystem regeneration.

“The alliance between trees and younger generations is essential to ensuring a better future for our planet. Thanks to Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group, the micro-nurseries we have established in several schools within the Biosphere Reserve engage children from the very first stages of creating a new forest to be nurtured and protected. Through the Semi di Futuro project, we transform a simple act such as caring for a seed into an educational experience capable of conveying values of responsibility, sustainability, and environmental awareness. Investing in the education of younger generations means sowing awareness and building a community that plays an increasingly active role in safeguarding the natural heritage that surrounds us.”Giuseppe Vignali, Director of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park

The meeting concluded with an interactive game session organized by La Lumaca, followed by an informal networking opportunity that strengthened dialogue among schools, local organizations, and institutions committed to promoting environmental sustainability.
