The video for “Semi di Futuro – crescere insieme per il Pianeta” is now online. This participatory, community-based tree nursery project combines scientific research, education, and design to help create the forests of tomorrow.

The film tells the story of a journey born from the meeting of three worlds: the curiosity and imagination of children, the work of researchers at the Parco Nazionale dell’Appennino Tosco-Emiliano, and a project that actively engages schools, families, and local communities in caring for the environment.

At the heart of Semi di Fututo is years of patient, dedicated work. Researchers have been carefully selecting the most resilient seeds—those with the greatest potential to adapt to climate change and grow into the forests of the future.

This research led to the creation of “Grow”, a nursery table designed to bring science into the classroom. Around Grow, children sow seeds, observe, wait, and care for young broadleaf seedlings, learning the value of time, responsibility, and respect for nature.

The journey culminates in its most meaningful moment: the young trees are returned to the local landscape, where they are planted to help establish the forests of tomorrow. It is here that a small seed becomes part of a thriving ecosystem, thanks to the shared commitment of an entire community.
